Registrations will be processed through the secure PayPal platform, allowing payment via a PayPal account or with one of the following credit cards: Visa, MasterCard or American Express. Registration fees are in Canadian dollars and include HST.

Discounted rates on First Air for conference delegates

As the official airline of the conference, First Air is offering a discounted rate of 65% off the full fare for conference delegates traveling to Ottawa from all First Air communities (system wide). The discount is also available for people attending the 2014 Arctic Inspiration Prize Awards Ceremony on 10 December 2014.

Reservations can be made online at firstair.ca by using promo code ACC65 or by calling 1-800-267-1247. Tickets must be purchased by November 30 and travel must take place between 5–15 December 2014.

Tickets are refundable to the original form of payment if flight segments are cancelled at least 2 hours prior to flight departure time, otherwise refund will be in the form of a future travel credit voucher.

Changes of travel dates are permitted, without penalty, with all travel completed by 15 December 2014.

Cancellation Policy

Refunds will be provided for conference registrations cancelled in writing and received by Friday 28 November 2014. A cancellation penalty of $50 will apply. No refund will be possible after this date.

Customs and Immigration

Travelers entering Canada are required to have a valid passport and/or travel document with the exception of U.S. citizens traveling by land or sea (including ferries) who may present a government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, as proof of identity, along with proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate or naturalization certificate.

Visa Applications

  • Visitors from some countries will need a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV). Click here for a list of countries requiring this visa.
  • The time required to process applications varies per region; click here for expected delays and plan your Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) application accordingly.
  • To find out how to apply for a TRV, please visit the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website. All applicants must satisfy CIC that they are genuine visitors and that they will be participating in the event or meeting.

Letter of Invitation

  • A visa letter of invitation can be provided for registered attendees who have paid in full.
  • To request a letter of invitation, please contact the Arctic Change 2014 organizers at .
  • Note that we can only issue an invitation letter that covers the duration of the conference plus the Saturdays and Sundays immediately before and after the conference.
