Co-chairs: Henry Burgess (NERC Arctic Office, United Kingdom)
Martin Raillard (Polar Knowledge Canada)
Researchers from Canada and the United Kingdom are working together increasingly closely, supported by a range of initiatives such as the UK-Canada Bursaries Programme and the Changing Arctic Ocean Programme. This session will present the key recent findings from this work and place them in the context of the increasingly international nature of Arctic research. It will also look ahead to an exciting new major opportunity for a step-change in the scale and impact of UK-Canada Arctic research cooperation. Practical examples of mutually beneficial and respectful research collaboration with Indigenous People will be highlighted in this session.
